Truth

Paper Sculpture Truth

Once or twice a year I become completely enamored with a musical piece. In 2017, Kamasi Washington’s 15-minute jazz track “Truth” from his Harmony of Difference EP was that piece. The track was warm, deep, and monumental, constantly wrapping around into itself to unveil new depths. Marcus J. Moore writing for pitchfork explains “Dubbed a six-movement suite, “Truth” is the record’s centerpiece, fusing elements of its five previous tracks into one composition.” (https://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/18990-kamasi-washington-truth/). I listened to the track multiple times a day for weeks. These paper sculptures are my attempt to capture what I felt listening to Truth.
