For this typography project, I was tasked with creating a poster displaying the “33 design details to maintain quality in your typography,” by Denise Gonzales Crip. Attention to detail, composition, hierarchy, and overall aesthetic were of particular importance in the execution of this assignment. The text, being unformatted, was left to me to interpret, structure, and group. Images and illustrations were prohibited, and varying degrees of constraints were placed on the assignment limiting the number of typefaces, font families, and colors that could be used with each design iteration. I wanted to experiment with different layouts with and without a grid.
